weary or worried,
exhausted or enervated,
fatigued or frazzled,
drained or distressed...
May you encounter peace within.
May your spirit find solace and restoration.
May you be ever-strengthened for your journey,
and may you always have a sanctuary
where hope and healing enfold you.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
Wow. You have impeccable timing. Or maybe I do. Or perhaps both of us do.
ReplyDeleteI just decided a short while ago that I would be taking a mental health day tomorrow (despite Tuesdays being my most busy and exhausting day of the week). I have literally missed three classes since I started college in 2008. Total. And one of those was because I was on a mandatory field trip for another class. So really, I missed two classes. After tomorrow? That count will be increased by five.
As much as I'd rather fight through the exhaustion, as I always do, a dear friend stopped me, and very seriously told me that I needed to take a day off. This was the friend I had given the very same advice to just a week ago, when she was sick with a bad cold, was completely miserable and yet still insisted on going to class. Normally, I would have fought with all the might I could muster, but I think this time God was telling me that I need to stop and rest.
